I’ve been starting at the version 5 icon for years, and never noticed the play on the aperture blades. A flatter, more elegant icon looks much more at place in my dock, even if it is inexplicably larger than the other circles. Which brings me to the first thing you’ll notice after upgrading to PhotoMechanic 6 – the redesigned icon. When I see a Photo Mechanic icon in somebody’s dock, it’s a good bet that they know what they’re doing. But here are my first impressions and noticeable changes in Photo Mechanic 6 from version 5. Some of the new features don’t apply to my workflow, so I won’t be covering everything. Some are UI related and some are functional improvements. The company’s website lists roughly 50 new features.
